Introduction to Sports Photography | 6 weeks

This course is meant for the new digital photographer, who wants to use new photo skills to photograph local sports events, school sports events, and youth action involving family and friends. Required is knowledge of how your own camera works, the ability to set manual and automatic exposures by using a camera or hand-held meter, and basic compositional skills. Students will learn how to photograph under available light, what ISO setting to use, freezing or blurring the action, looking for that dramatic photo through pre-visualization and timing. Useful, but not required, telephoto lenses and external flash. Preferable equipment choices will be discussed.
