Digital Printing: Pixels to Print

In this course we will discuss the method and process involved in fine digital printing. You will learn what defines a quality print and how you can use color management and Photoshop CS2 to ensure predictable results. We will discuss choosing and using different printers, ink and papers, and discuss image display and permanence. We will also discuss photoshop tools such as adjustment layers that will allow you to get the best quality print. Best of all...you will have the opportunity to print your images and ask questions.

Requirement: Completed Photoshop for Beginners class and/or a fundamental understanding of Photoshop's tools for adjusting contrast and color. We will be using Photoshop CS2 for its ability to effectively manage color although Photoshop 6 and above will have all of the tools needed.

Student Levels

Level I.
For beginners and those who want to refresh their basic skills. You will gain a good foundation in photographic fundamentals.

Level II. For those with a basic understanding of photographic fundamentals and equipment. You will gain expertise in more advanced applications.

Level III. For photographers who have demonstrated photographic skills. You will concentrate on specific technical aspects and creative approaches.
