Lightroom 2.0 and the Digital Fine Print
George Dewolfe | Workshop - 5 days

Over the past 12 years the Digital Fine Print Workshop has grown from one printer and one paper to a vast number of choices in printers, papers, inks, and techniques. The one thing that has remained constant is the workflow itself – its purpose – to produce an excellent print on a consistent basis.

With the advent of Lightroom 2.0 and the addition of Broad and Local controls to the application we can abandon Photoshop for most or all of the workflow. The original file is kept in pristine condition and

printing is done directly through Lightroom 2.0 so that the workflow is seamless in one application. The Charleston Center 4 Photography spotlights the premiere of this new workflow through Lightroom 2.0. For the first time in the history of digital printing and photography we have a totally nondestructive workflow from the original image to the print.

The workflow consists of photographing the scene, computer transfer of the image, simple image management, overall, broad and local controls, defect removal, noise removal and sharpening, other creative tools available in the new Lightroom 2.0, and printing. Included will be the use of the Print Through Application for the ColorByte ImagePrint RIP. Both Black & White and Color workflows are discussed.
